Silicone moulds are an easy and creative way to add detailed elements to your cakes, cookies, cupcakes, desserts and more.
They work perfectly with fondant, Gum paste, modelling paste, chocolate, isomalt, clay and more.
For best use with fondant, Gum paste, modelling paste lightly dust the insides of the mould with some cornflour, this will ensure easy release. Simply press a small amount of paste into the mould cavity. Roll gently over the silicone mould and remove excess paste with a blade tool or knife. Turn mould over and gently peel the mould away.
For best use with chocolate and isolmalt, simply melt chocolate or isomalt to a liquid as per method of that product. Pour into the silicone mould and wait till the liquid is set firm. Turn mould over and gently peel back the mould.
Tips:
– When cutting away excess paste from the mould be sure to cut horizontally to ensure you don’t cut into the mould
– Add some tylose to your fondant to harden it slightly
